🤨 FAQs
Q: How does the KVM Ext. Board work?
A: It captures HDMI output from a target device and displays it on the uConsole screen. The uConsole’s built in keyboard and trackball act as USB HID input to the device. Learn more about USB based KVM technology.
Q: Which uConsole models are supported?
A: Compatible with uConsole units based on Raspberry Pi CM4, CM5, and RISC V cores. Ensure your system firmware is version 1.2 or newer.
Q: Can I use this together with the 4G or LTE module?
A: No. This module replaces the 4G or LTE board inside the uConsole and occupies the extension slot.
Q: Is the software open source?
A: Yes. The Openterface Connect Apps are fully open source and available on our GitHub repository.

Hard to install software and usb switching port does not work. Else a really neat package.
it was hard having the software to run.
the keyboard and mouse are not working.
there is a lag in hdmi input.
Great device for the on the go IT pro. I've found it super handy to have a KVM built into my daily carry. No more looking for a monitor or keyboard!
The HDMI only displays in a box on the UConsole. There is no menu to change app settings. No mouse control on either Windows or Linux Host. Text is upside down on the port cover.
Thanks for reporting this and sorry for the trouble you’re experiencing. We’ll make sure to get this sorted.
Regarding the text on the port cover: the orientation was designed so that when you hold the uConsole and look down at the ports from the top, the text is readable. It may appear upside down depending on the viewing angle, but this was intentional to make port identification easier.
For the mouse control issue, could you please share:
Which Linux distribution you’re using on your uConsole?
Is it running on the CM4 module?
This will help us diagnose the problem accurately.
